Gredos Ibex

The Gredos Ibex is the largest of the Spanish varieties of ibex, in both body and horn size. It has beautiful horns, tightly curled in a lyra shape.

They inhabit in Gredos, Batuecas and Riaño mountains which takes a 2-3 hours drive from Madrid.

This hunt is for adventure hunters who want to experience free range mountain hunting in Spain. Stalking at 4.500 fts – 7.000 fts, it is firstly designed for hunters with very good physical shape, but we can also tailor the trip to your physical conditions, providing horses to arrive to the top of the mountain.

Beceite Ibex

The Beceite Ibex horns adopt a straighter, vertical spreading out curve. These Ibex can be as large as the Gredos one. There are two types of configurations for these Ibex: ‘lira’ horns which curve back like most Spanish Ibex, and ‘palm’ shaped, which are much flatter horns, making them look even larger.

They are located close to mediterranean coast in the provinces of Valencia, Castellon and Teruel, it takes 2-3 hours drive from Valencia/Alicante airport.

The hunt takes place in Beceite mountain range between 2500fts and 6000 fts above sea level with different scenarios absolutely suitable for any physical shape of the hunter, an amazingly beautiful área with a very unique steep orography, with deep valleys and rock formations.

Southeastern Ibex

Southeastern Ibex male’s horns grow long and follow an extraordinary backward curve, which looks like the shape of a sheep’s horn. Unlike Gredos and Beceite ibexes, the Southeastern ibex does not turn black in winter, having a much lighter colour. In terms of body size, it is smaller.

This ibex subspecie it typical from the areas of Sierra Nevada’s National Park, as well as in different areas of Granada, Almería, taking 2-3 hours drive from Malaga airport.

This hunt is a unique experience for those hunters who love mountain hunts where very high physical level is not requiered, taking place in large, deep, rocky canyons, with an altitude that can reach up to 9,000 fts high.

Ronda Ibex

The Ronda Ibex is the smallest of the four. The horns grow straight up with a small angle at the tip, having lighter color skin than the others.

The Ronda Mountain Range is located in the Malaga province and is approximately an hour and a half from Malaga airport. This terrain is extremely steep, with limestone mountains, reaching as high as 4,000 fts in elevation.

Its hunting requires lots of walking and stalking, once spotted, we will make a plan in order to get close and get a clear shot on the oldest billy, making sure it has reached its maximum growth, so it is important to walk very carefully trying not to spook them.
